【三俣山荘】貯水タンクの設置

昨シーズン、三俣山荘では環境省の「滞在環境上質化補助金」を活用し、新たに貯水タンクを設置しました。三俣山荘の水は、三俣蓮華岳から湧き出る湧水を小屋まで引いて使用しています。かつてはシーズンを通じて水に困ることはありませんでしたが、近年は夏を過ぎると湧水が枯れることが増えてきました。

その主な原因は残雪の減少です。小屋の蓮華岳側上部には大きな雪渓があり、その雪解け水が地中に浸透し、湧水として湧き出ています。しかし、雪渓が消えると1～2週間で湧水も枯れてしまいます。近年の気候変動の影響でこの現象が深刻化し、小屋の運営にも支障をきたすようになりました。

雪渓が減少する中、安定した水の供給を確保するために貯水タンクを導入しました。これにより、一定量の水を貯めることができるようになり、渇水時にも対応できるようになりました。宿泊される登山者の皆様や、通過される登山者の皆様にも、これまでより快適にご利用いただけるようになります。

Last season, Mitsumata Mountain Lodge installed a new water storage tank with the support of the Ministry of the Environment's grant for improving mountain lodge facilities. The lodge relies on fresh spring water sourced from Mt. Mitsumata-Renge. In the past, we had a stable water supply throughout the season. However, in recent years, our spring water has been drying up toward the end of summer.

The primary cause of this is the decreasing amount of remaining snow. A large snowfield above the lodge on the Renge side feeds underground water, which emerges as a natural spring. However, once the snowfield disappears, the spring dries up within 1 to 2 weeks. Due to recent climate changes, this issue has become more severe, affecting the lodge's operations.

To ensure a stable water supply as the snowfields continue to decline, we have introduced a water storage tank. This allows us to store a certain amount of water and respond to water shortages when necessary. As a result, both staying and passing hikers will be able to use the lodge facilities more comfortably.
